Obituary for Martin Chernak

Martin Chernak, 79, of Ambler, PA, passed away on January 18, 2018 at his home, surrounded by his family. He was the beloved husband of Evelyn (Screptock) Chernak for over 57 years. Martin was born in Wolf Run, OH on July 11, 1938 to the late John and Anna (Redovian) Chernak. Martin served his country in the U.S. Army. He worked for Firestone Tire and Rubber Company for 43 years, most recently as a National Account Executive, until his retirement. He enjoyed bowling, playing golf and baseball. He was an avid Cleveland sports fan. Along with his wife, he is survived by his three children: Ken Chernak, Tom Chernak, Linda Stofik; 6 grandchildren and a great-grandchild to be expected. Relatives and friends are invited to his Funeral Mass on Friday, January 26, 2018 at 11 AM at Holy Trinity Byzantine Catholic Church, 6801 N. 10th Street, Philadelphia, PA 19126. A viewing will be held on Thursday evening from 6PM to 8PM at the Emil J. Ciavarelli Family Funeral Home and Crematory, 951 E. Butler Pike, Ambler, PA 19002 and again on Friday from 10 AM to 11 AM at the Church. Interment will be private.
