Obituary for Therese Ryan

Therese Ryan, 96, of Collegeville, PA, passed away on May 10, 2019. She was the beloved wife of the late Vincent G. Ryan, Sr. Therese was born in Philadelphia, PA on April 24, 1923 to the late William and Madeleine (O’Neill) Nace. She was a graduate of Little Flower High School Class of 1941 and Chestnut Hill College Class of 1945, where she earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry. Therese worked as an operator for Bell Telephone until she became a hard-working stay at home mom. She was also a Paramedic for the Second Alarmers for 5 years. Therese authored a poem entitled “Santa at Bethlehem” which was published in 1957 and continues to delight children young and old. She was a devout Catholic and a spiritual inspiration to many. Therese is survived by six children: Vincent G. Ryan, Jr. (Letitia), Mary Therese Kennedy, Mary Eileen Ormsby, Thomas Ryan (Stacy), Francis Ryan (Antoinette), Mary Rose Ryan; 24 grandchildren; 47 great-grandchildren; a sister Patricia Campbell. She was predeceased by a son Joseph Ryan (Angeline) and 5 siblings. Relatives and friends are invited to her Funeral Mass on Thursday, May 16, 2019 at 11:30 AM at St. Anthony of Padua Church, 259 Forest Ave., Ambler, PA 19002. A viewing will be held from 9:30 AM to 11:30 AM at the Church. Interment will be in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Cheltenham. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Therese to the Veterans Multi-Service Center .
