Phyllis F. Galanti, age 81, of East Norriton, died on December 13, 2018 at her home. She was the beloved wife of the late Santino J. “Dino” Galanti, who died in 1987. She was born in Norristown, PA on November 22, 1937 to the late Louis and Rosalie M. (Durante) Spera. Phyllis was a graduate of Norristown High School class of 1956 and attended Pierce Business School. She was employed at Peoples Bank in Norristown in the HR Dept and in Bookkeeping. She later worked for Genuardi Family Markets where she worked for 25 years in the Deli and Catering Dept. She also did the baking for special occasions for her team members and friends as well. She received the ACH Service Award for Excellence and the Mystery Shopper Award for Customer Service Excellence. She retired from Safeway in 2008. Phyllis was a devout Catholic and a member of St. Helena Church in Blue Bell. She was a former member of St. Paul’s Church in East Norriton where she was a founding member and benefactor of the new church. She was a daily communicant, prayed the rosary daily, and attended Eucharistic Adoration. In her younger years, Phyllis supported her children’s education and activities for guidance and encouragement. Being a member of the Spera family, she was proud that Spera Lane in West Norriton Twp. was dedicated to the family because of the efforts of her father and brother who were developers. She was proud of her Italian heritage, and enjoyed keeping her family traditions going with family and friends during the holidays. Phyllis is survived by her 4 children Dino B. Galanti and wife Denise M. Caramenico of East Norriton, Maria D. Galanti and husband Marc Ricco of Florida, Paul A. Galanti and wife Tricia of Douglassville, Reini J. Galanti and wife Carol of King of Prussia, 5 grandchildren Nicole, Courtney, Paige, Paul and Lucas Galanti, her sister Rosalie Spera Smith and the late Russell of East Norriton, a sister-in-law Clare Spera of Norristown, a brother-in-law Anthony Tornetta of West Norriton, and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she was pre-deceased by a brother Salvatore Spera, a sister Josephine “Josie” Spera Tornetta, and her parents-in-law Battista and Emma Galanti. Relatives and friends are invited to her Concelebrated Funeral Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, December 22, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Helena Church, 1489 Dekalb Pike, Blue Bell, PA 19422. The Viewing will be on Friday from 6-8 p.m. and Saturday from 8:30-10:00 a.m. at the Emil J. Ciavarelli Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, 951 E. Butler Pike, Ambler, PA.
