Obituary for Nickolas S. Albanese

Nickolas S. Albanese, 91, a lifelong resident of Conshohocken, died on February 14, 2019 at his home. He was the beloved husband of 68 years to Josephine (Olcina) Albanese. He was born in Conshohocken, PA on April 6, 1927 to the late Pasquale and Mary (Laurelle) Albanese. Nick attended Conshohocken High School and later served our country in the US Army during WWII. He was employed as a Welder for John Wood Company for 40 years until his retirement. Following his retirement, he served as Groundskeeper for the Scott Kulick Family of Flourtown for 15 years. Nick took great pride in his home that he built himself, and enjoyed landscaping and maintaining his home. His home was the center of many family and friends gatherings, he also enjoyed music and loved to dance. He enjoyed time in North Carolina visiting family, doing some fishing, and helping family with their home improvements. Nick was a Philly sports fan, especially the Flyers. He thoroughly enjoyed his wife’s cooking, and adored animals, especially his beloved dog Emily. In addition to his wife Josephine, he is survived by 2 daughters Christine Maziarz (James) of Bolivia, NC, Mary Jo McGee of Conshohocken, 4 grandchildren James Maziarz (Marisol), Melissa Whiteman (Paul), Robert McGee (Siobhan), Daniel McGee (Victoria), 5 great-grandchildren Nicholas, Benjamin, Mallory, Ava and Emmett, a sister Patricia Paone of Ambler, and many nieces and nephews. He was pre-deceased by siblings Joseph and Philip Albanese, Helen Trofa, Theresa DiPasquale, Anna Picardi. Relatives and friends are invited to a Visitation from 9:30-11:00 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 19, 2019 at St. Matthew Church, 219 Fayette St., Conshohocken.
