Maria Zappacosta, 87, of Dresher, formerly of Plymouth Meeting, passed away on September 23, 2018. She was the beloved wife of the late Camillo Zappacosta for over 66 years. Maria was born in Bucchianico, Italy on January 25, 1931 to the late Donato and Assunta (Di Frederico) Ruzzi. She was a retired Seamstress. Maria came to America on June 18, 1962 and settled in Chestnut Hill before moving to Plymouth Meeting. She enjoyed baking, gardening and knitting. Most of all, she loved taking care of her grandchildren. She is survived by her two children: Grace D’Orazio (Joseph) and Laura Laskin (Mitchell); 4 grandchildren: Sarah, Brian Laskin, Joseph D’Orazio, Tina Gedgard; 6 great-grandchildren: Alexis, Olivia, Gavin, Grant, Madelyn, Gabriel; 2 brothers: Giuseppe and Corradino Ruzzi; a sister Lucia D’Orazio. She was predeceased by 3 siblings: Amerigo, Urbano and Camillo Ruzzi. Relatives and friends are invited to her Funeral Service on Saturday, September 29, 2018 at 11 AM at the Emil J. Ciavarelli Family Funeral Home and Crematory, 951 E. Butler Pike, Ambler, PA 19002. A viewing will be held from 10 AM to 11 AM at the Funeral Home. Entombment will be in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Cheltenham, PA. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Maria’s name to the International Myeloma Foundation, 12650 Riverside Dr, Suite 206, North Hollywood, CA 91607 or to the Gilda’s Club (Cancer Support), 200 Kirk Road, Warminster, PA 1897.
