Obituary for Louise Shockley

Louise Shockley was born June 22, 1928 in Quincy, Florida the firstborn to Benjamin and Marie Mitchell. She grew up in Florida with her brother and two sisters before settling in Pennsylvania in the mid 1950’s.
After earning her license at the Beauty School of Apex, she was known to share her skills with her loved ones – especially her press & curl. The strong work ethic she displayed at Mars Inc., where she worked in electronics for some 20 years before retiring, earned her an article of recognition in the corporate magazine; it is also where she was given the nickname “Weezie”.
Louise dedicated her life to Jehovah on December 4, 1972 and continued faithfully worshiping her heavenly father until her final breath. As one of Jehovah’s Witnesses, she attended the Sharon Hill congregation for nearly 40 years before moving to Oreland congregation where all the friends loved her pleasant smile, witty personality, innate ability to bond with people of all ages and, of course, her glorious white hair – her crown of glory.
Louise was truly a fashionista – so much so that she was known to employees at T.J. Maxx and Marshalls as “Ms. Louise”. Her recent visits to the hospital left an indelible impact on those whom she interacted with: they all love her “funny and loving remarks” and made sure to fulfill her request for Lorna Doone cookies.
Louise was preceded in death by siblings, Ellouise Favors and Benjamin Mitchell. She will truly be missed and leaves to cherish her memories: SIBLING, Hazel M. Mitchell, DAUGHTERS, Ann E. Williams (Lionel), Barbara A. DeMagnus, Linda D. Monroe and Kim Y. Henry (Jeffrey), 7 GRANDCHILDREN, Kawang N. Wongus (Timothy), Karl Williams, Kristofer Williams (Mia), Christopher Monroe, Nicole Barnes, Jeffrey S. Henry (Milanda), Nicole Henry; 13 GREAT-GRANDCHILDREN, Bree E. Wongus, Bryn E. Wongus, London L. Williams, Skyla M. Williams, Stone V. Williams, Brittany Barnes, Briana Barnes, Khalil Henry, Illias Henry, Elycia Henry, Kaliannah Henry, Zachariah Henry, and Zora Henry. Along with many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.
A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, August 7, 2019 at 11:30 a.m. at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 4050 Butler Pike, Plymouth Meeting, PA.
