James Wynder, Sr., age 80, of Ambler, PA, died on July 14, 2019 at his home surrounded by his family. He was the beloved husband of the late Rose Ann (Harold) Wynder. He was born in New Hall, West Virginia on November 6, 1938 to the late Soloman and Betty Ann (Sanders) Wynder. James attended Dunbar High School in West Virginia. He started working early in age as a Shoe Shine boy, delivering papers, and cleaning cars. In 1965 there was a huge job hiring going on in the East Coast which brought him and a few friends to Pennsylvania. They all were hired at Trailmobile Tractor Trailers in West Point, PA where he worked for 25 years. Later he worked the night shift at AmChem (American Chemical Co.). In 1980 there was a big layoff at Trailmobile because the company moved to Chicago and later became employed by the Robert Wooler Co. in Roslyn as a Steel Mill Worker. During this time he became an entrepreneur by establishing his own automobile detail business “Jim’s Simonize” in Ambler, PA where he worked and did what he loved for many years. His slogan was “I will make a lady out of your car”. Jim was a dedicated and hard worker; he enjoyed dancing, playing cards, checkers, buying cars, watching football, and he also coached summer league basketball in Ambler. He is survived by his 7 children Betty Ann “Whoopie” Givens and Kevin of Philadelphia, James “Jamie” Wynder, Jr. and Sheila of Philadelphia, Rochelle “Tootsie” Donovan and Jim of Upper Perkiomen, PA, Virginia “Little Bit” Wynder of Ambler, Darlene “Doll Baby” Wynder of Philadelphia, Rose Ann “Boogie” Wynder of Ambler, Jerome Michael “Tiny” Wynder of Ambler, 22 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, his siblings Willie Wynder, John “Butter Milk” Wynder, Pauline Butler all of Cleveland, OH, Katie Mae Robinson of West Virginia, and many nieces and nephews.
