Obituary for Grace C. Gillaspy

Grace Cairo Gillaspy passed away peacefully Sunday, June 9, 2019, with her loving husband Tom by her side.

Born August 25, 1949 in Philadelphia, Grace is the daughter of Frank and Mildred Cairo, and loving sister to Mary Jane Reeves. She married Thomas Gillaspy on June 22, 1985. The couple resided in Telford, PA for several years before moving to Upper Dublin in 1995, where they’ve lived for the last 24 years.

Grace attended Bishop McDevitt High School, and received her BS from Gwynedd Mercy University. She subsequently worked at J&J for 35 years, becoming a business manager in the Chemical Research Department.

Grace is the beloved sister-in-law to Annie McHugh (JC), Beth Allen (Jim), Janie Hall (Scott), aunt to Bob Reeves (Jennifer, Ashley, Gavin), Lauren, Mitchell and Caroline Hall, Michael Burner (Brenda), Megan Miller (Andrew), Tim Allen (Sarah), Andrew Allen (Jennifer), her beloved godson Richard Liebert Jr. and a great aunt to many more. Grace also had a beloved extended family including Andy and Sandi Myer, Stacy, Bill, Shelby, and Sammi Zanine, Jessica, Elliot, and Gabe Downey, Lindsay, Rick, Casey, and Grady Armour.

Grace’s memory is cherished by a wide circle of relatives, neighbors and friends of all ages, who were drawn to her compassion, quick wit, intelligence, and insight.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a future date for close family and friends.
