Ruth Ann Bridgers, 80, of Spring House, PA, passed away at 4:48 pm on March 8, 2017 at Abington Memorial Hospital. She was the beloved wife of Clifford Charles Bridgers for 55 years. Ruth was born in Reading, PA on September 19, 1936 to the late Robert Eugene and Helen (Jablonski) Siegle. Ruth was a graduate of Central Catholic High, and she attended both Georgetown and George Washington University in Washington, DC. She worked on Capital Hill in an administrative position for Senator John F. Kennedy. When she married Naval Lt. Clifford Bridgers in 1961, they lived for 2 years in Taiwan and later for two years in Okinawa. Ruth opened and managed the first state licensed daycare center in Reading, PA. She was the inveterate entrepreneur, always looking for or creating a new financial venture. Over the past 12 years, Ruth and her husband have owned and operated Springhouse Bed and Breakfast, an 18th Century fieldstone house located northwest of Philadelphia. Along with her husband, she is survived by her four children: Julie Ann Smith, Clifford Charles Bridgers, Jr., Robert Eugene Bridgers, and Christina Marie Rivoire; 11 grandchildren: Daniel, Angelica, Christopher, Robert, John Paul, Samantha, Sophia, George, Zacharia, Shane, and Alma; 14 great-grandchildren : Isabella, Choice, Charlie, Devin, Dillon, Alivia, Chris, Jr., Chance, Emily, Nicholas, Valerie, Anthoni, Jayce, and Sebastian; 3 sisters: Jannet Siegle Carpien, Bernadette Siegle Skok, and Joanne Siegle Powers; 3 brothers: Eugene Siegle, John Siegle, and James Siegle. She was predeceased by a sister Roberta Siegle Adams. Relatives and friends are invited to her Funeral Service on Saturday, March 25, 2017 at 3:30 pm at Emil J. Ciavarelli Family Funeral Home and Crematory, 951 E. Butler Pike, Ambler, PA 19002. A visitation will be held from 2:30 pm to 3:30 pm at the Funeral Home. Interment will be private.
