Joseph Neil Barry, 54, of Huntington Beach, California, formerly of Blue Bell, Pennsylvania went home to God on March 25, 2017 at Orange Coast Memorial Hospital, Fountain Valley, California. Joey was born on March 7, 1963 in Drexel Hill, Pennsylvania to his loving and devoted parents Joseph E. and Dorothy R. (Hatchell) Barry and later became an awesome big brother to his loving siblings Brian (Ann) and Mary Ellen Barry. He will also be sadly missed by his loving daughter Danielle and all those touched by his amazing spirit! Joey graduated from Bishop Kenrick High School and treasured the life long friends he met there. He also graduated from Drexel University with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. He loved figuring out what made things work and worked in Sales and Management for General Electric and Siemens in Power & Water and Oil & Gas. He was a Renaissance man who embraced the wonders of life and nature and exuded a "joie de vivre" which was contagious to all those blessed to be in his company. The world was a nicer place with Joey in it!

He fought valiantly during his last illness, courageous and at peace with his suffering. He continuously expressed his gratitude to be surrounded by his devoted parents and family. He was also cared for by an amazing hospital staff who came to know and love him as we did, treated him with compassion as one of their own and grieved with us at his passing.

As we celebrate the life of our beloved Joey, we invite you to join us for his Mass of Christian Burial on Friday, April 7, 2017 at 11:00 AM at St. Helena Church, 1489 DeKalb Pike, Blue Bell, Pennsylvania, 19422. A Visitation will be held from 9:30 - 10:45 AM.

In lieu of flowers, contributions to Orange Coast Memorial Hospital, 9920 Talbert Avenue; Fountain Valley, CA 92708, or Catholic Charities, 222 N. 17th Street, Philadelphia, PA 19103 would be deeply appreciated.
