John "Jack" A. Allwein, 85, of Ambler, PA died on August 9, 2013 at his home surrounded by his family.
He was the loving husband of Mary L. (Malfara) Allwein.
Jack was born in Lebanon, PA on November 7, 1927 to the late Russell C. and Florence (Sullivan) Allwein.
He served our country by enlisting in the Army Air Corps during WWII, attaining the rank of Private First Class.
He was a graduate of the University of Notre Dame, where he received a Bachelor Degree in Economics.
Jack worked for Johnson and Johnson for over 25 years as a Cost Accounting Manager. He enjoyed reading, golf and history, but what he really loved was spending time with his grandchildren.
Along with his wife, he is survived by his two children: John R. Allwein (Jennifer) and Mary Ellen Kopp (Dennis); 6 grandchildren: Brian and Nicholas Kopp, John, Michael, James and Christopher Allwein; a brother Robert Allwein and a sister Nancy Collarile.
He was predeceased by brothers: Joseph, William and Herbert Allwein and two sisters: Marian Shuey and Joan Emerson.
Relatives and friends are invited to his Funeral Mass on Tuesday, August 13, 2013 at 10 AM at St. Joseph Church, 16 Mt. Pleasant Ave, Ambler.
A viewing will be held from 9 – 10 AM at the Church.
Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery, West Conshohocken.
