James Hilt, 85, of the Swedeland section of King of Prussia, died on April 13, 2017 at Seasons Hospice.
He was the beloved husband of Marguerite (Ryan) Hilt.
He was born in West Conshohocken, PA on August 12, 1931 to the late Andrew and Julia (Noski) Hilt.
James was a graduate of West Conshohocken High School class of 1950, where he played basketball.
He was a veteran of the US Army serving our country during the Korean Conflict.
He was later employed as Surveyor for Yerkes Engineering Co.
James enjoyed watching old movies, the outdoors, and was an avid hunter.
He mostly enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by 2 children Peggy Van Vlack (Bert) of Collegeville, Jimmy Hilt (Bianca) of Kennett Square,
5 grandchildren Matthew James Van Vlack (Mia), Jessica Marie Sonder (Scott), Evan Michael Hilt (Dakota), Caitlin Ann Hilt, Nathan Alexander Hilt (Hanna),
4 great-grandchildren Blake Allan Sonder, Bentley Scott Sonder, Caleb Alexander Hilt, Athena Mae Van Vlack who will arrive in July,
2 nieces Doris Raebuck (Bill), Eleanor McManus, 2 nephews Gary Hilt (Patty), Bill Hilt.
He is predeceased by all his siblings Emma Cioffo, William, Andrew, George, and Albert Hilt.
Relatives and friends are invited to his Funeral Service on Friday, April 21, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. at the Emil J. Ciavarelli Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, 516 Fayette St., Conshohocken.
The Viewing will be from 9:30-10:30 a.m.
Interment George Washington Memorial Park.
