Obituary for Sylvia Hennessy

Sylvia Hennessy, 86, of Conshohocken, died on October 14, 2017 at Regina Nursing Center. She was the beloved wife of the late Stephen C. Hennessy. She was born in Conshohocken, PA on October 8, 1931 to the late Giovanni and Concetta (Consorte) Caruso. Sylvia was a graduate of Conshohocken High School. She worked as a Secretary for White Motor Company for 25 years. She volunteered for the former “Nearly New Shop” in Ardmore, whose proceeds were to benefit University of Penn Hospital. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary for Havertown VFW Post. Sylvia was highly creative, she enjoyed crocheting and knitting. She was also an excellent cook and baker. She is survived by her sister Anita Caruso of Conshohocken. She was pre-deceased by her brother John R. Caruso and sister Mary Caruso. Relatives and friends are invited to her Funeral Mass on Wednesday, October 18, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Matthew Church, 219 Fayette St., Conshohocken. The Viewing will be from 9-10 a.m. at the Emil J. Ciavarelli Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, 516 Fayette St., Conshohocken. Interment in St. Matthew Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Sylvia’s name can be sent to the American Cancer Society, PO Box 22478, Oklahoma City, OK 73123. Condolences may be made at www.ciavarellifuneralhomes.com.
