Obituary for Antoinette A. Smith

Antoinette A. Smith, 78, of West Norriton, died on August 10, 2017 at Towne Manor East Nursing Center. She was the beloved wife of the late William J. Smith. She was born in Minersville, PA on March 19, 1939 to the late Giuseppe and Julia (Stravinska) Abbonizio. Antoinette was a graduate of Conshohocken High School class of 1957. She worked for the former Cumberland Candy Co. in Bridgeport, PA and later for Kmart in the personnel department for 21 years. She also was a former bookkeeper for the Ciavarelli Family Funeral Homes for many years. Antoinette was a member of Visitation BVM Church where she was a member of the ladies auxiliary. She loved animals, gardening, baking and cooking, and was a Den Mother for Cub Scouts some years ago. She is survived by her daughter Joann M. Smith of Norristown, David J. Smith and wife Michelle of King of Prussia, her grandson Matthew J. Smith, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by all her siblings Vincent and Nicholas Abbonizio, Marie Sciascio and Rose Ferranti. Relatives and friends are invited to her Funeral Mass on Wednesday, August 16, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at Visitation BVM Church (upper church), 196 N. Trooper Rd., Trooper, PA. The Viewing will be from 9-10 a.m. at church. Interment in Calvary Cemetery. Memorial donations in Antoinette’s name can be sent to the SPCA, 19 E. Ridge Pike, Conshohocken, PA 19428.
