William L. Ciavarelli, is the son of the founder Emil J. and Ethel Ciavarelli. Bill was raised in the Conshohocken area and serves as Supervisor of the Ambler Funeral Home. He is also the proud father of four children and 3 grandchildren. After graduating from St. Matthew’s High School in 1964, Bill entered the military and served his country during the Vietnam War. After being discharged from the armed forces Bill graduated from the American Academy McAllister Institute of Funeral Service in New York, NY. He also attended the University Of Pittsburgh School Of Medicine in completing courses in sterile eye enucleation in working closely with Wills Eye Hospital of Philadelphia. Upon completion of his funeral training in 1972, he entered the family business and worked as a Director with his father. Bill has volunteered his time with many different organization’s and charities. He is a member of the Conshohocken Lion’s Club and served as Secretary for 25 years. He is a member of the Ambler Kiwanis Club, the Sons of Italy Lodge in Ambler, Veteran’s of Foreign War, CBC Club of Conshohocken, Andrew Lanutti Post in Conshohocken, as well as the American Legion in Ambler. Bill is a fourth degree member of the Knights of Columbus, the National Notary Association, as well as a member of the Montgomery County Funeral Directors Association. He is an active member of the St. Anthony of Padua Church, where he serves as an usher, and belongs to the fraternal order of the SS. Cosmas and Damian Society in Conshohocken, PA. 

Bill enjoys fishing and boating most especially with his children and grandchildren. Bill enjoys travel, history, and social gatherings with his friends and family. Bill’s forty years of experience and commitment to service has been a valuable asset in providing the most professional, compassionate and caring services to all those in need.


Christopher J. Ciavarelli, son of William L. and Frances Ciavarelli, is a 3rd generation funeral director. Chris resides at the Conshohocken funeral home with his wife Tonya (Sweeney) Ciavarelli and their 3 children, Sophia, Nadia, and Christopher. He is a graduate of LaSalle College High School ’94, attended LaSalle University as Biology major in the Pre-Med curriculum, and then decided to enter the family business and achieved his Degree in Funeral Service from American Academy McAllister Institute of Funeral Service in New York, NY with Cum Laude honors in ’98. Chris is a member of SS. Cosmas and Damian Church in Conshohocken where he volunteers with several organizations, is a 4th Degree Member of the Knights of Columbus, a member of BNI West Conshohocken Chapter, the Optimist Club International, volunteers and sponsors for numerous community activities and organizations. He is also a member of the National, PA, and Mont. Co. Funeral Directors Associations. He is also a CANA Certified Crematory Operator. Chris enjoys following the Phillies and Eagles, and spending time at the shore with his family. 


William E. Ciavarelli
Bill, a 3rd generation funeral director, is son of William L. and Frances Ciavarelli. Bill was raised in Ambler, PA and is a funeral director at the Ambler location. He attended Kennedy-Kenrick Catholic High School for 1 year and transferred to Lansdale Catholic High School where he graduated in 2001. Bill then went on to study at Montgomery County Community College. He was a Volunteer Firefighter with Ft. Washington Fire Co. #1. After working in the business for years, he decided to continue the family tradition and pursued to get his Funeral License. He attended Northampton Community College and graduated in 2007 with a Degree in Funeral Service. Bill is a memeber of the Montgomery County Funeral Directors Association, Pennsylvania Funeral Directors Association, National Funeral Directors Asociation, International Cemetery, Cremation and Funeral Association and recently a CANA Certified Crematory Operator.


Andrea M. Ciavarelli, the daughter of William L. and Frances Ciavarelli, is a 3rd generation Funeral Director. Andrea was raised in Ambler, PA, and is a graduate of Upper Dublin High School. While attending Upper Dublin High School, she participated in extra curricular school activities, as well as Cosmetology school. 

Andrea has 7 years experience in a local salon and has been a licensed Cosmetologist for 4 years. During her senior year of high school in 2005, Andrea made the decision to enter the family business with her father and two brothers. 

She is a graduate of Northampton Community College with a degree in Applied Science Funeral Service Education. While attending Northampton, Andrea received 1st place in her Restorative Art Class for extensive reconstruction.

Andrea is the newest member of the family business and brings with her the female perspective and sensitivity to all families at a time of loss. Andrea is proud to follow in the footsteps of her late grandfather Emil J., her father William L., and her brothers Christopher and William E. in providing excellent, professional, and compassionate service to the community. 

Andrea believes that every funeral is a unique life celebration for the person who has passed. 

Andrea is committed to carrying on the philosophy of the Ciavarelli Family Funeral Homes with the focus being that every family deserves the support, expertise, and caring touch when a loved one has passed.


Frances A. (Buttacavoli) Ciavarelli has lived most of her life in Ambler, PA. Fran is the proud mother of four children and three grandchildren. Fran graduated from Archbishop Kennedy High School in 1967, and completed an Associate Degree in Business from Montgomery County Community College. She has worked in management positions for several companies in the Montgomery County area. Fran also worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant for Regina Nursing Center in Norristown, PA and the Artman Lutheran Home in Amber, PA. She volunteered as a dispatcher for the Ambler Community Ambulance Association for 15 years, where she earned the honor of life time member. Fran joined the family business along with her husband and father-in-law when the Ambler facility opened in 1979. Along with providing her management skills to the family business, she has provided much support and guidance to Chris, Billy and Andrea as they pursued their educations to become licensed funeral directors. Fran is an active member of St. Anthony of Padua Church and served as a Eucharistic Minister and as a member of the Capital Campaign Committee. She has also served as the president of the church’s Lady Auxiliary and was on the board of the former Ambler Catholic Home and School Association. Fran has also been a member of the Ladies Auxillary of the Veteran’s of Foreign War in Ambler, Ambler Kiwanis Club, Son’s of Italy Lodge in Ambler along with the Mercy Suburban Ladies Auxillary, Conshohocken Lions Club, CBC Club, and the Andrew Lanutti Post Conshohocken. Fran enjoys many hobbies which include gardening, cooking traditional family dinners, baking, and entertaining family and friends.  She enjoys spending vacations on the beaches of New Jersey and is very involved in the many activities that her grandchildren enjoy.
